Former Director General of Police (DGP) Shashi Kant has been inducted into the 17-member AAP election campaign committee for Punjab. With this, the screening of candidates will start tomorrow for the remaining 12 seats. The AAP today announced that Advocate HS Phoolka would contest from the Ludhiana parliamentary seat.
Advocate Navin Jairath, AAP state spokesperson, said: “The national executive has approved the list of members of the election campaign committee. After screening the names for the 12 parliamentary seats, AAP will declare the candidates soon after approval from the national election commitee.”
He said that nearly 750 applications were received for all 13 seats in Punjab.
The members of the election campaign committee are Advocate Naveen Jairth, Deepak Thakur, Dharamvir Gandhi, Gulshan Chhabra, HS Phoolka, Harinder Singh, Harjot Singh Bains, Lal Singh Sulhani, Manjit Singh, Raghbir Singh, Rajni, Ranjeet Singh Pandher, Santokh Singh, Dr Sumail Singh Sidhu, Tarandeep Singh, Shashi Kant and Kultar Singh.
