Chandigarh, January 21
Showing solidarity with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s protest, local members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a silent protest in Sector 17 plaza here today.
Protesters carried banners with messages like ’Shinde, Shame Shame”, “Honesty honors, corruption dishonors” etc.
An AAP volunteer, Gurjusjit Singh, said they gathered at the plaza to show solidarity with the party’s government in Delhi, which is protesting against the Centre in general and Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in particular.
The protesting AAP members regretted that the Home Minister had suspended 12 security guards in case of a broken windowpane at his home but was not taking action against the allegedly corrupt police officials.
The party members took out a silent procession in Sector 17. They protest ended at 2 pm. AAP members Dr TC Goyal, HK Arora and Joginder Deshawar took part in the protest.
